About Muscat Rose Rakija, Martesi

We are introducing exclusive Istrian Muscat Rose, a native variety known for its unique, functionally female flowers that require the companionship of a pollinator for optimal growth. Cultivating this delicate grape in the vineyard demands special attention, as its irregular and nuanced productivity adds to its charm. The resulting Muscat Rose brandy, crafted from the grapes, boasts a delightful fruity-floral finish reminiscent of roses. This distinct black variety, enriched with tannins, achieves perfect balance through ageing in three types of barrels—acacia, cherry, and oak.

To enhance the subtle intricacies of the Muscat Rose, we carefully avoid heavy oak extraction, as the oak takes time to harmonize with the distillate over two years. On the other hand, acacia and cherry effortlessly achieve this union, each imparting its unique character. This scarce grape variety is a captivating choice for distillation, leaving an unmistakable imprint that reflects the terroir of Istria.
