Gin Istrian, Martesi
Gin Istrian is inspired by Istria and its position on the Adriatic Sea and the Mediterranean way of life. Produced in small batches, it conveys the scent of Adriatic plants in every glass. The classic gin note of the juniper berries is retained, but the other ingredients were adapted to the area where this gin was made. There is no cardamom, coriander, or angelica in Istrian gin, but these plants have been replaced by Istrian plants - iris from Rakalj, thyme, rosemary and lavender from Poreč and a citrus note from Dalmatia.

About Martesi Gin Istrian
Gin Martesi is inspired by Istria and its position on the Adriatic Sea and the Mediterranean way of life. Produced in small batches, it conveys the scent of Adriatic plants in every glass - truly Adriatic, because gin Istrian boldly gathers plants grown in the climate of Istria, with the fragrant addition of bitter orange, which comes from the area around Dubrovnik. The classic gin note of the juniper berries (although in this case, grown in the area of mountain Ćićarija in Istra) is retained, but the other ingredients were adapted to the area where this gin was made. There is no cardamom, coriander, or angelica in Martesi gin, but these plants have been replaced by Istrian plants - iris from Rakalj, thyme, rosemary and lavender from Poreč and a citrus note from Dalmatia. Gin dominates every glass and cocktail. It was made in two different distillations, completely different from each other, to perfectly convey the character of each plant in the distillate. Steam distillation using gentle extraction gives a gentle touch of the Mediterranean, while an open flame and direct heating of the plants give body to the final distillate.
Main charachteristics
The raw material of the base: premium wheat distillate
Main liqueur ingredients: juniper berries, iris, lavender, thyme, rosemary, bitter orange
Distillation in an open flame still and steam distillation.
Ageing: 15 days
Aroma: The scent of Adriatic maquis in the hottest days. The scent is complex, imbued with juniper berries and citrus with an elegant grassy finish. A gin that is very elegant, and long-lasting but a bit cheeky. A hard-core Istrian.
Made In Istra recommends enjoying Istrian as a gin and tonic, solo, and with plenty of ice.
